The stars sparkled and shined as they walked the red carpet last night.

It's not the most exciting awards night (think Oscars!), but the People's Choice Awards offered plenty of enjoyment for fans and fashionistas last night. Colors ranged from golden metallics to sexy neutrals to brilliant pops of purple, tangerine and red. While the big accessory of the night was chandelier earrings - almost every star from Queen Latifah to Lea Michele sported a big statement pair - the worst one was worn by Nicole Kidman (below), whose lacy motorcycle gloves made it look like she had dirty Band-Aids on her hands. Ew! But let's not focus on the negative; last night there were lots of looks to be positively jealous of!
Carrie Underwood (above), in a Christian Cota dress, won the award for Favorite Country Artist, and joked that she was so excited about winning that she almost tripped on her way to the podium.
Private Practice's Kate Walsh sparkled in a vintage gold beaded empire waist mini that she picked out that afternoon from LA retro clothing boutique Decades.
Taylor Swift's year started off with a bang when she won for Favorite Female Artist, and she looked as adorable as she always does in her age-appropriate, white beaded tube dress and silver Christian Louboutin heels.
Glee's Amber Riley showed off her curves in a purple cap-sleeve dress that hugged her in all the right places - showing off her waist and flowing out to a full skirt.
Fellow Glee cast member Lea Michelle, dazzled it in a brilliant red corset-topped strapless dress. To celebrate their win, the cast had pizza delivered to the audience, but we would have preferred a song!
Mariah Carey's white mermaid gown it was as high-maintenance as the star herself, who had to be helped up the steps by her husband when she won Favorite R&B artist. "I want to thank my husband, Nick Cannon for many things, including helping me with my dress," she exclaimed.
Inglourious Basterds star Diane Kruger showed off her fab figure and savvy shopping sense - she teamed a Herve Leger dress with H&M accessories!
Precious actress Paula Patton showed off her baby bump in a short black dress that highlighted her mom-to-be cleavage. But we were dazzled by another eye-catching pair - her statement earrings.
Olivia Wilde from House channeled Audrey Hepburn in a dreamy one shouldered black and white dress with ballerina skirt and black platform heels.
Honorable mention has to go to Johnny Depp. He rocked a style uniquely his own in ripped jeans a wrinkled white shirt and plaid jacket. But let's face it, the man could wear a garbage bag and he'd still look sexy.
Love it or hate it?
Sandra Bullock walked away with two awards last night - Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Comedy Movie (for The Proposal) - but her embroidered Vivienne Westwood dress looked to us like it had been fashioned out of Grandma's curtains.
What did you think of last night's fashions? Which was your favorite?
