    Miley Cyrus: Cyrus bid farewell to her teenybopper image this year, chopping off her wavy red locks with celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan (the man responsible for the infamous '90s "Rachel" cut from "Friends"). As her hair got shorter and blonder, her style got way more daring. Basically, Cyrus discovered the crop top in 2012, and never looked back.

    This year was filled with countless red carpets and events, giving us ample opportunity to style-stalk our favorite stars and, of course, analyze the severe fashion evolution we noticed taking place with throughout 2012.


    Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus are at the top our celebrity transformations list, as they both ditched their trademark styles in favor of edgy new looks, while A-list actresses like Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence showed off their ability to step out of their comfort zone and take some red carpet risks with big payoffs. And of course, as is the case every year, there were a few style shifts that left us totally baffled (the ever-changing looks of Christina Aguilera, for one).
