Blog of the Day: Betty and Veronica Fashions
Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge have been Archie comics frenemies for 60 years, but they haven't aged a day. Whether you preferred the sweet, hardworking blond, or the stylish, bossy Veronica, these animated young ladies never disappoint.
As a brunette, I sided with Veronica in the age-old battle for Archie's affection. While I still don't approve of her manipulative techniques to woo him, I always greatly preferred her stylish outfits. Sorry Betty fans, but the blond just could not put together an emsemble with the same flair. Veronica would usually pulled together in chic dresses and bold accessories while Betty preferred more playful polka dots, overalls, and ponytails. But she really was so NICE! Gotta give her props for that.
Anyhoo, there's a new blog called Betty and Veronica Fashions which chronicles their extensive wardrobes and I just can't get enough of it. There are dozens of looks that reflect the trends of decades past, and plenty of them are enviable. We may not be able to raid their closets, but the awesome chick behind the blog has tried to recreate a few outfits with actual clothing.
The real bonus though is getting a little look back into the predictable but awesome storyline. Ah, the days of just hanging out reading comic books-we may need to revisit them. Until then we'll be reading B and V Fashions. And let us know who your all-time favorite comic gal is: Betty or Veronica?
