After launching Two in 2010, there was little question of where to take the collection of breezy tunics and caftan dresses - designer Monica Patel hopped in her car and headed to the beach, where Rube in Amagansett immediately picked up the line. Drawing inspiration from the unique elements of her mixed Italian-Indian heritage, Patel "creates a modern palette of colors using textiles from India." Each piece is hand-sewn in Dumbo, Brooklyn using artisanal textiles and saris that Patel individually selects from India. "I wanted to make something I could wear throughout all phases of life," she explained. "I am happy if I can make something comfortable that can look great."
