I'm a fan of underwear. I actually prefer the classic bikini cut (which makes me a "classy athlete" according to this underwear decoder.) But a couple of years ago, it seemed like it was an anomaly to wear any panties. Britney, Lindsay, Paris, Christina … their hoo-ha's were all over the web. Granted some of those ladies aren't the classiest, but seriously, slip on a pair if you're climbing out of a low limo.

Now, while I do love the comfort of my undies, not all my friends agree. Granted, many are forced to go commando during laundry day, but some just like the feel of it. "If you're wearing really soft leggings (or other soft clothes), why do you even need to wear it?" said one girlfriend. I could think of a few very good reasons. "Besides, I hate panty lines," she said. Hmmm. I also hate panty lines, but I'm still not ready to give up on cotton comfort.

But what do the experts say? Are there any health benefits to wearing (or not wearing) panties? While no one thinks it's dangerous to go without undies, wearing them does have some benefit. For one, they protect your privates from any dirt or irritants (kinda like pubic hair), and they provide a barrier between you and your favorite jeans. This barrier can catch discharge, odor, and any other leakage. However, too-tight undies can cut off circulation, and cause little spider veins (aka broken capillaries) in the area.
I don't know about you, but I think I'll stay pro-panty. But I want to know: Do you go commando? Why or why not?
