You better aca-believe it: The Pitch Perfect sequel finally has the official green light. We sorta knew it was coming, but now that it's been confirmed, you can finally put on your party pants and really celebrate (and we suggest celebrating with karaoke because duh). Even cooler? Elizabeth Banks, who co-starred in and produced the original, will be making her directorial debut on Pitch Perfect 2.
To refresh your memory, since it's been a few years since the first flick came out and all, it's a musical comedy about a freshman in college-played by the super sassy and endlessly awesome Anna Kendrick-who finds herself joining a reeeeally competitive campus acappella group. It's sorta like Bring It On, though the only gymnastics they do are with their voices. And, in case you don't remember, the cast is killer. Apart from Elizabeth and Anna, it also starred Skylar Astin, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, and Brittany Snow.
The movie's expected to hit theaters in 2015, which is, yes, really far away. But seeing that pretty much the entire cast has landed role after role since the last film debuted (Rebel snagged her own ABC series, Skylar's in a TBS comedy, Anna's been a Mindy Project regular, and Elizabeth was just in a tiny film you may or may not have heard of called The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), we're thrilled it's going forward.
