After having straightened(japanese)my hair for about 4 years, I finally decided to go back to my natural wavy/curly hair this spring. This is just a trial and I am hoping I like it enough to go back to it long term.
Anyway, since it is kind of cold right now - the air isn't very humid - my hair is behaving ok if I blow dry it and style it after my shower/gym. I have to admit that is a pain in itself. I am really a shower and go out with wet hair girl - even in the winter.
So it is hard for me even if it takes only 10 mins. By the way, keeping hair shoulder length or shorter definitely helps. Honestly - it isn't that bad.
Not real sure how it will be in the summer. I might change my mind about going wavy.
What I do now which makes my hair manageable and nicely wavy and no frizzies please:
1. Use a good shampoo or conditioner : Alterna caviar shampoo + conditioner alternate it with Aveda smooth infusion shampoo and conditioner.
2. Put in Ojon leave - in glossing cream dime sized amount and spread it evenly in your wet hair. Honestly this stuff is GREAT! smells good and leaves hair realllllllly frizz free.
3. Put Eufora polishing serum just to the ends. This also really helps.
4. Now blow dry it crazy till it is about 85% dry - takes 5-7 minutes. I use a ceramic one - looking forward to buying a tourmaline one.
5. Finish styling with round hot air brush (ceramic version) and dry the top portion of the hair inwards with that - takes about 5-7 minutes.
6. Finish with Alterna anti aging rapid repair spray on your just dried hair - again I swear this stuff works.
Reuse it as needed. A small amount goes a long way.
Oh well!
I will decide at the end of the summer what next to do with my hair - I do get bored easily.
