Getty ImagesWhile browsing through blogs today, I came upon a post from US Weekly called, "Brad Pitt Trims His Beard!" Yes! Finally! So I clicked through, and I stopped and stared at the photos. YUCK! It's still there! Now I fully understand many women may not be in agreement, but I think Brad's beard was just so nasty. It was way too long, it had miniature ponytails in it, and I can't help but think of all the food and germs and who knows what that gets caught in there. The beard is mildly better now without those longer tendrils hanging down, but still kinda bad. Why not shave it all off already? Haven't you had enough fun with your beard by now?
I just think guys-especially handsome guys like Brad Pitt-look better with a close shave. When men randomly decide to grow a beard, it often times looks bad on them, gets overgrown, or they don't know how to properly groom it. Every time a male friend says, "I think I'm gonna grow a beard," I want to shout, "No! Don't do it!" Sometimes I do. I could be wrong, but I think women are slightly anti-beard like I am. A little scruff can be a good thing, though. When my boyfriend shaves with a razor he looks like he could be in high school. I personally think he looks the best with a five o'clock shadow, which is his preferred look too. Lots of celebrities look great with a little stubble. (George Clooney anyone?)
With the Lost season premiere around the corner, this also makes me think of when Jack (played by Matthew Fox) decides to grow a beard when he finally gets off the island. He looks so haggard, and his whole life falls apart. Then he shaves it off and things fall back into place. Coincidence?
So ladies, tell me: What is your stance on beards? Do you like them or hate them? How long is too long? Would you tell your man if you weren't feeling his facial hair? [US Weekly]
Do men love their beards more than we do?
