I am definitely your all-black outfit kind of girl. Open my dresser and you'll see a wide range of black, beige, white … and more black. What you won't find is a single item with color. Not a problem in my book, at least it wasn't a problem until every designer decided that soft feminine pastels were the trend of the year.

So, how do you wear this new style without looking like an Easter egg? I decided to do some digging, and found a few pastel pieces I would actually wear.
Stay Comfy
Baby steps. For me this means choosing a piece of clothing I normally wear, and tweaking it a bit to fit the pastel trend. These light blue jeans are perfect because I already love my denim. Plus, the color is still in the blue family, albeit a little light.
Refresh the Look
I love my all black work ensemble. It's easy and always looks super professional. Then, I saw this look online. Not only do I love blazers -- they give great structure to any look -- but I can still keep my all-black look and use the pop of color as a refresh.

Color Block
I'm definitely not ready for a full pastel dress, but I can deal with this one. Color-blocking is a great way to define your figure, and this dress does that with only has a hint of hue on the top and bottom.
Small Doses
I love accessories. Here's why: It lets me try a trend, but without going all out. Check out this pink satchel bag. It doesn't scream Easter egg, whereas an entire pastel pink dress might. Like I said before, baby steps.
These are the ways I'm trying the pastel trend, but what about you? Tell me: Do you like the pastel trend? Or is it too childish looking? Leave your comment in the section below.
