Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Extreme is just that for me: Extreme

To much of a good thing.
To much of a good thing.

When using mascara, I'm fond of the applicators that have small, short bristles on the wand. I have found using this type of applicator, my lashes don't clump as much and the wand doesn't hold as much liquid to splash around my eyes. You can really get in there and apply the mascara where you want. Not so much with this big, chunky applicator Estee Lauder provides. I had goop all over my face. Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara does not have the applicator I love.

Mascara has never smelled very good to me but my daughter was looking at the product and caught a whiff of it; She gagged. It does not smell environmentally friendly at all. When applying the product, I have to hold my breath. With this in mind, it doesn't help with my decision to repurchase the product.

The product itself stays on for a long time and does make my eyelashes look longer but no more than my usual mascara (Cover Girl's Volume Exact). Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Extreme mascara also adds volume but to me, volume with this product seems to mean thicker mascara and I personally do not like the clumpy mascara look.

For some reason during the testing of this product, I watched a lot of sad movies.I wound up looking like Taylor Momsen, the punk rocker girl from Gossip Girl. I am in my thirties and the grungy, black eye look doesn't suit me. After your 20's, this look probably shouldn't be done unless your a rockstar.

I hate to say it but I just didn't like Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara. On a scale from 1-10, Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Extreme mascara gets a 2 from me. With a suggested retail price of $23.50, I have to say I won't be a repeat purchaser.
