    Fashion that Makes Us Sad: $2,900 D&G Bag that Looks like Roseanne’s Couch

But their new Miss Sicily Crocheted Bag has no business walking the red carpet on the arm of an A-list celebrity-in fact we're pretty sure we've seen it on Roseanne's couch!

    Yes, this $2,895 purse looks like it's been draped in a '70s afghan. Retailer Neiman Marcus claims it will "provide a homespun comfort as it adorns both dressy and casual ensembles." We think it really should never have been made. And we have absolutely no idea how it could possibly cost three grand.

        D&G is an Italian company. The bags are made in Italy. The high end ones anyway.

      I think it would go perfectly with those "Victoria, Victoria Beckham" (yes they are really called that) dresses I saw online the other day. Overpriced for the loving-hands-at-home look.

      What I LIKE about this is that anyone can get a crocheting friend to reproduce this bag and have a "haute couture" handbag for a tiny price. And if one is (as I am) fortunate enough to be able to crochet, hooray! High fashion bags for all my friends!

      I got news for you, I cant see spending three thousand on the accepted trendy bags that the women lose sleep over on and are on waiting lists to get their hands on. These designers have suckered these women into spending fortunes on rags and bags.

      obviously, D&G has run out of ideas for charging big money on a legit product and this is the best they could come up with! I'll pass on this one, no thanks D&G. Outrageous for this economy, even if you can afford it!

      I have a hard time justifying that price for even a leather handcrafted handbag when the money could be used for so many more important things, especially when so many people are unemployed. There are children who go to bed hungry in a cold house, and older people on a fixed income who choose between food or medicine or heat.

      I have crocheted for many years.... and in the 60's I made an afghan that looks exactly l like that purse........ I know where I can still buy purse handles, maybe I better go into business....hahahahaa..$3000 for a yarn purse......... what are people thinking? OH wait...........they arent thinking.......if anyone purchases this purse, they are nuts!!!!
