Fashion that Makes Us Sad: Sazzi Toe Sandals

Sazzi five-toe sandals are upsetting to us.Sazzi five-toe sandals are upsetting to us.Maybe I'm alone here but I really don't like things between my toes. I don't like toe socks-toes are not fingers, and there's a reason we don't wear gloves on our feet. I don't like Vibram Five Fingers shoes either-my toes want to work together when I run. So it may come as no surprise that I definitely don't like the new Sazzi Decimal Motion toe sandals (pictured at left).

The little toe strap on normal flip-flops that rests between your big and second toe can cause chafing. Am I right? It's kind of irritating! So imagine wearing sandals with straps that go between EVERY SINGLE TOE! The thought is horrifying. Also: they're pretty hideous and they cost a whopping $80. I don't care how "good" these are for your feet, I will stick with sandals that leave all 10 of my little piggies in peace.

Disagree? You can pick them up on Sazzi.com.

I guess I'll never know. I have a hereditary defect that causes my pinky toes to overlap my other toes. I can't even wear toe socks lol

both pinkie toes?! my grandma had one pinkie overlap, she wouldnt even answer the door without her houseslippers on, poor dear.

Well, the right one has mostly straightened out by now. The left one still overlaps quite a bit. Considering that my mom's side of the family has webbed toes, my wonky pinky toes from my dad's side don't bother me much. A lot of people tell me they're "cute." :p

I don't like anything between my toes. These shoes are UGLY!!!!!! My feet are very sensitive, I can't sleep with the blanket tucked in over my feet.

the author thinks toe socks are bad? has she seen the toe-sneakers that some kids wear?

That's what Vibram Five Fingers she mentions are. Also the point of them are not to look pretty, they are made to be used for minimalist running and/walking.

They aren't just for kids. Some top athletes are now wearing them. I tried on a pair and I think I'll stick to bare feet. It's like flip-flops only sweatier.

Every spring, it takes me at least a month of wearing flip flops to get my toes used to the strap. I can't imagine having multiple straps between my other toes.

these could be perfect for pedicures, if not so pricey.

I like them, but then I like the Five Finger shoes. They are extremely comfortable. What I think is sad is that just because the author doesn't like things between her toes, she is claiming this is an item worthy of "Fashion That Makes Us Sad." What's next on her list, toe socks? I know she mentioned them, I'm just surprised she didn't dedicate an entire article to it. There are a lot more things out there to worry about, and to be fashionably sad about than just toe sandals (which are probably extremely comfortable for those of us who don't have an issue with straps going in between our toes).

They may be comfortable, but they are ugly as sin.
