Gossip Girl returns! Tonight! (OMFG?)

Are you watching Gossip Girl? Is your teenage daughter? Are you excited for the new episode tonight? It's the first one since the strike! Do the GG ads (above) that have been plastered everywhere for weeks make you tingle in a good way or a bad way? Oh, wait? You don't care at all?
Here's the truth: Even though Gossip Girl, despite what New York magazine says, is not a good show, I'll still be watching tonight. So far, its been kind of like eating candy. But not good candy, like chewy stale candy that is somehow still really delicious even though it hurts to eat. I love Dan, I love Serena's hair, I even kind of love Chuck. But most of all, I really do love the outfits.
I suspect since their ratings have been terrible, things are going to start getting more tawdry and pot-stirring and buzz-worthy and I'll actually hate it the way I hated every show that started sort of innocent and then became ridiculous. (I still curse you, Melrose Place!)
We shall see. Tonight!
