I'd stay away from the glitter too. Fun in theory but such mess to deal with. Would really love to learn how to do the modge podge and fabric over the ballet flats like the geometric ones above but I'm too afraid to ruin my shoes. I don't get rid of my shoes unless they are absolutely falling apart!

Some of the ideas are cute but when using Mod Podge, all I can think is the first time you wear these shoes where there is any moisture they're going to fall apart. I tend to get rid of my shoes because they're falling apart or they aren't comfortable rather than because I don't like the way they look so I can't see myself doing this. I have painted old canvas sneakers (like Keds) with fabric paint which does cover up stains and doesn't wash off in the rain.

The only thing I would consider is the bows. The rest of them are over the top in my opinion

Yes to everything but the doilies and chunky glitter. How tacky!

My guess is that while everything looks ok in the pictures, most of these would just look awful when done by a regular person in real life, lol.
