Victoria and David Beckham were in New York last week, specifically at Macy's, to launch one of the soccer star's signature colognes. Everything seemed to be in order: Mr. Beckham looked hot, Mrs. Beckham was skinny and didn't smile, and the couple was swarmed by about a zillion onlookers, fans and photographers. But then something strange happened. People started examining Posh's super high-heeled boots and realized, "Wait, those heels don't have a heel!?"
It's true. Antonio Berardi's thigh-high boots are the latest in the "extreme shoes" trend that's been happening in fashion for the past few years. Those who have tried Berardi's footwear, like British fashionwriter Hadley Freeman, have gushed over its comfort and stability--the heavily weighted toe apparently makes it so you can't teeter around.(Still, the fact that you're nearly walking en pointe whenever you have them on would seem to cancel out the fact that you can't tip over.)
I guess the larger question is: Aren't these ugly? Check out Posh's full outfit after the jump.

Hmmm. Would you wear heelless shoes?
