How to Age Like a Supermodel

    By Kate Sullivan, Allure magazine

Brooke Shields, Paulina Porizkova-Ocasek, Patti Hansen, and Yasmin Le Bon may be supermodels with supergenes-it's hard to believe they're all age 45 and older. We asked them how they've maintained their looks (and their outlooks) with diet, exercise, beauty rituals, lifestyle changes, and attitude adjustments. For more from each of these models-turned-role-models, check out our April issue.

Earn as much a a super model. That'll do the trick.

Anyone that makes that type of money can look great at any age. It is called Botox,fillers,facelifts,etc........ I would love to see computer generated photos showing what these people would really look like at their age had they not cheated. I would pay for those photos!

I'm a 53-year-old man, and I look like I'm 38, tops. I've never used sun screen (though that would've helped a lot too). But I have no wrinkles on my face other than some crows feet that only show when I smile wide or laugh. My secret? Because I'm fair-skinned, I've only gone to the beach at night (which I prefer anyway because it's not crowded and full of people judging your weight and outfit), I stay out of the sun in general, drink a lot of water, don't smoke, don't drink and get the best night's sleep I can. I take vitamins, especially Ester-C supplements every day. I stay away from junk food and try to reduce stress by watching comedies, playing guitar and hanging around positive, nice people. The story of your life is written on your face. People who are angry all the time have an angry look even when they're calm because of the lines they create from scowling. Drinking from a glass without a straw can prevent wrinkles in your lips because you have to repeatedly purse your lips to use a straw. It just comes down to little things. Don't be an alki, smoker, worrier or confrontationalist and drink lots of water and get your sleep; and you can look as nice as people who spend 1,000s on skin-tightening agents. And wash--keep your skin clean. You don't have to be vain to look decent. But if I had a model's money, I'd probably look even younger for the benefits they get that we don't--but still, we can all age gracefully if we want, and without being obsessive about it.

Sorry sweetie, you do not look "38, tops". You look much older. Maybe you have smooth skin, but you have the fatty jowls and a double chin of a man in his 50s.

How rude 'just sayin'! bet you are one of the ones with a permanent scowl on your face - geez - lighten' up sourpuss!

And how do you know what the guy looks like? Are you a lonely stalker?? Sure sounds like it....creep!

I think the post was thoughtful and spot on. The only thing I disagree with is going to the beach at night. Just wear sunscreen during the day and enjoy the sunshine and vit-d. Sharks like the water at night.....if you are swimming at the beach. I would not chance it. ;)

I am 45 and wear a size 8. I am 5'8.5 and I weight 150 lbs. My skin is gorgeous and I attract men like I was 20 something. So just take care of yourself and have plenty of safe and protective sex, lots of water, and healthy relationships. stay away from the heavy drinking and smoking.

I'm the same height / weight as you and nearing 40, I think I attract more 20 yr old men now than I did when I was in my 20's. Like you I don't drink heavily or smoke, I drink lots of water, use sunscreen and a good skin cream with glycolic acid or retinol, a good hair color and conditioner, a little weight-lifting and a lot of walking. Laughter and trying to keep from worrying obsessively I think helps a lot too. Staying in shape and looking young makes it a LOT easier for the relationship & sex part, I don't worry about my man wandering. :)

Aging well is aging naturally without chemicals, surgery or anti-aging procedures.....and let's keep it real celebrities and models have all had anti-aging help.....however there are women who age gracefully naturally without that kind of help....find them and display them with their stories. You should be able to tell they are natural there will be some lines and wrinkles somewhere.

You know what is odd??? Never, in any of these "How to age well articles" does anyone ever list anything about inner beauty. How treating others with kindness on a daily basis can lead to feeling youthful and joyful. How forgiving people for past hurts, lifts your spirits, brightens your eyes and your heart.

Inner beauty never fades and never ages and reflecting that to the people around you can never be replaced by clothing or a syringe filled with botox.

Every one of them is a terrific example to us all. I'm 53 so I am right in there with this age group and very proud of that. That's a big part of it. Never, ever say you look good "for your age". That's ridiculous. You're gorgeous. Period. That's a lifetime gift that Mother Nature gave to women!

I'm 44 and as far as I'm concerned I can run right with these women. I have recently taken myself from a size 8 to a size 4. Not sitting around watching tv and chowing down on junk really helps, and I do believe that having hot sex helps. I myself wanted to get back to the way I use to be and couldn't stand the thought of not looking good naked. So I did something about it. As for being airbrushed, their faces look great because they are not always natural in the pictures. If you can look good natural you've got it.

The real secret is plastic surgery, airbrushing, and professional angles/lighting. Oh, and Botox. Can't forget about toxic chemicals the rich inject into their foreheads.
