Is it easier for a guy or girl to crash Fashion Week? We found out!

(Photo by Getty Images)(Photo by Getty Images)New York Fashion Week has its share of crashers. Sneaking into invitation-only runway shows is such a phenomenon that The Wall Street Journal even offered advice on breaching security last year. "Crash with purpose. Walk with purpose. Above all, dress with purpose," are the words of wisdom. If 'purpose' is the key to crashing the shows, who's got more of it: men or women? I had a hunch guys would have more luck than women. If fashion is all about standing out, it's logical a man would be more coveted as a guest (invite or no) in a world where their sex is an endangered species. To put my hypothesis to the test, I challenged Best Week Ever's Dan Hopper to a battle of the sexes, Fashion Week style. Who was more likely to pass security and even gain access to a show? Check out the play-by-play slideshow to find out.

Ah, Piper. I love you, your crazy eyes, crazy clothes, and that LeeLee Sobieski pose. I will die a happy woman if I can work the words "90 percent vagina, 10 percent fashionably relevant" into an original sentence of my own. Thank you. Seriously. Thank you.

FUNNY article! Reminds me of my 'crashing-rock-concerts-backstage' days. 'Walk with purpose' definitely works!

That white leotard was absolute genius. Sheer genius -- it screamed "I am an absolutely mad fashion 'designer' type," which worked perfectly and enabled our intrepid reporter to make her way past the security.
