Jennifer Aniston takes fashion risk... and stumbles

When it comes to walking the red carpet, Jennifer Aniston tends to stick with what looks best on her. Ninety-nine percent of the time this means a form-fitting dress in black, red, or a neutral nude shade, that reveals either a little cleavage or her legs. And ninety-nine percent of the time she looks fabulous. Aniston is in terrific shape and knows how to plays up her assets yet still look chic enough to make the best-dressed lists.

So we're not really sure what happened over the weekend at the Paris premiere of her new film, "Bounty Hunter." Surely Jen wanted to wear something daring overseas, but this salmon colored Christian Lacroix gown does her figure no justice! And all the critics are letting her know. One correspondent from E! says, "as much as we think mixing it up is better than playing it safe, sometimes taking a risk can go awry and, well, this one did." Another UK blogger commended her for choosing a French designer for her Paris premiere, but insisted Aniston didn't have enough attitude to pull off a Lacroix gown.

We don't think it has anything to do with Jen not pulling it off--we just don't like the dress! The shiny material and ruffles look cheap and tacky, and the salmon color isn't quite right on Aniston. But above all, there's way too much fabric and the cut is not flattering! So while we applaud the actress for stepping out of her comfort zone, we think she needs to trust her instincts when it comes to red carpet attire. It's fun to try out new styles, colors, and designers, but the dress must suit your body type. Jen, you can do much better!
