JES: Living Color

JES has appeared on the popular UK show "Top of The Pops" and finds her inspiration in music by Adele, Robyn, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and of course, Madonna. "Growing up in New York, Madonna was a huge inspiration for me, and I actually had a song submitted to her," she says.JES

"For me music is all about the connection between the artist and the fans.A great song is something that can transcend its genre or era and continue to touch listeners for years to come. I have a deep feeling of spirituality within me, and while I don't like to preach at all, everyday I am full of hope. It keeps me going in the tough times and helps me to find the beauty in the world. I try to use music as a force for good, to inspire and foster hope in my fans and bring us closer together."

"Working in the music business is hard work! It's 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and involves a lot of sacrifice and commitment, so it's important that you love it if you want to be a part of it. The Internet has completely changed the business in the last 10 years or so, and while it has made it harder to make money from recordings, it has also opened the door to a much higher level of direct interaction with fans. It's amazing to be able to talk to fans daily through the social networks and helps people stay up to date with what you're doing and where you're going to be."
