$7,000 for extensions is just crazy, you can get 100% human hair extensions from sites like http://www.extralengths4u.co.uk/ which are the higher range and they don't cost anywhere near that. It's just madness. It looks okay tho.

7000 for hair, you are a pig, get her off everyone's TV please. She might have thought about taking the kids on vacation with that money....damn I just gave the attention @$*re another idea on how to exploit her kids for money.

The charge of $7,000 would have been the cost, however it was done in exchange for the great publicity and not for money.

I think everyone should leave her alone.. it was bad enough that her husband stepped out on her and left her to raise eight kids alone. How is her getting a new hair do and starting over with her life exposing her kids? she is human and wants to start fresh. I didn't see her kids on the cover of the magazine with her new haircut. Good for you Kate, your hair looks AMAZING and you should start doing for you! leave all the old mess in the past and move forward. The show started out about her kids and creating a life for them... Now that she is a single mom everyone wants to diss her for her faults. Everyone should mind their own business and let the woman live her life HER WAY!

Everyone deserves a "treat" once in a while. However, I think her short hair looks WAY better then this. She should've gotten a full head of extensions. If your're gonna "treat" yourself DO IT RIGHT !!!

Umm If TLC was taping this I would assume they paid for the extensions. They have paid for almost everything we have seen done on this show except the house. Jon came clean about that on one episode.

I think she is a horrible mother. Spend the money on groceries, house hold bills, KIDS, but not your hair. It looks like crap and you could of taken the kids out to dinner. why is everyone acting as if a woman who is a mom cant look sexy? Whats with the "your a mom first" crap? Of course she is a mom, but whats wrong with taking a little time out and splurging on herself. With 8 kids she deserves to spend some money on herself once in a while, ALL of her time and effort goes into her kids. So does that mean she has to spend EVERY dime she has on the kids?
