In 2012 and 2013, Kate Middleton arrived at Aldershot Barracks for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in the same green Emilia Wickstead coat. So, Kate's sartorial prognosticators (which, let's be real, includes all of us) were unable to sleep last night, waiting to see if Kate would make it a threepeat, or if she would deviate from her Wickstead of choice. And . . . proving that she still has a few tricks up her (immaculately dressed) sleeve, Kate, in fact, wore a different green coat (!) this morning: a Hobbs Persephone coat, which she accessorized with a gold Cartier shamrock brooch. (We can predict with some certainty that the closest thing to a gold-shamrock brooch everyone else celebrating today's holiday will see is the imprint of spilled beer on a friend's shirt.)

Kate's glam brooch has some historical significance, as well, as it was first worn by Queen Alexandra in 1901. Kate's delightful hat, which may be a slightly lighter shade of green than the coat, is made by Gina Foster. Meanwhile, she decided to wear her hair down-and appears to have had it blown out-defying the unkind assailants of the past few weeks.

Kate and William (oh yeah, William was there, too) presented the traditional "sprigs of shamrock" to the assembled officers and guardsmen, all of whom no doubt maintained a serious face, but then-once Kate had moved on-Snapchatted a shamrock-flaunting selfie to all their friends ("SHAMROCK & ROLL, PUNKS! K. MID JUST HANDED ME THIS AND I THINK A STRAND OF HER HAIR MIGHT BE TANGLED IN IT!!!!!!!!!")
