I think a lot has to do with how you wear your hair in order to pull off a certain style of hat. That - and looking like Kate!

Not so many years ago, the American women AND men, were not considered in fashion unless their head was covered with yes, a hat! As a younger lady I wore hats with every outfit I had and usually we purchased hats specifically for our outfits. It's too bad we have become so casual and don't "dress up" anymore.

I truly love the Stetson and on the princess it looks absolutely chic.

You can try to make fun of these women and their hats, but I think it's fabulous! They haven't lost anything by carrying on this tradition. I wish women in the US cared more about their appearance. They would feel better about themselves if they wore more than a tee shirt and ripped jeans. Come on, ladies....put some time into yourselves and how you look! And you can try to find fault and excuses with what I am saying, but you know it's true......

Hats are from long ago, even in America. Good for them to wear them. Kate looks good in anything. She is beautiful in so many things.... The best to you kate....

I think Kate is beautiful with or without the hats. I also think she has grace and William picked the perfect bride. I wish them all the happiness in the world-you can tell they love one another.

I thought anyone can wear a fancy hat your own way as you see fit. You don't have to be British, but certainly it's a natural costume for British Royals since time immemorial, don't you? Kate Middleton is just so beautiful that she can actually wear anything she fancies as a ROYAL , now she has to be as radiant as she possibly can in the public eye.

Always admired my mother when she wore hats and she did often, she was a beautiful lady and always well dressed. So many of today's woman want to dress like men. My father also men's hats. Just think of the jobs that could be created if people like that again.

They make her look older than she is. I love hats, but I hope she doesn't become dowdy.

I love hats and own several. Unfortunately I don't get to wear them as much as I would like, but hats were always worn in the US until around the end of the 60's. I always wore a hat or veil to church and got a new easter hat every year. I bought them for my daughter after she was born in the 70's. In fact hats were used instead of or with a veil for a wedding with the huge dress and all. I hope they come back soon here for special occasions. Black women always wear them for Sunday church service still. I am going to a graduation party and if indoors I may just wear one myself, I have a lovely black one with feathers and a flower on it. Start a new trend maybe.

All things beautiful, I wish in our country USA people would go back a few years and dress nicely.
That means youg girls and boys.. as well as the older folk All look so much like trash.

I'm waiting for nice hats to come back as well. When i was a young lad my dad bought me a nice hat, had it for years always had it on my head when going out. Made me feel good. (Like a young MAN! Where did all the nice things go. ( heard in my church from my paster priching, all nice things and good come to an end.) How sad. Wake up America before it's too late. You young folk as well. Life is so short when one looks back 60 years or so. We had such a beautiful country back then?
