Kate Middleton Wore the Same Outfit as Someone Else at a Wedding

So, let's pretend you're going to a fancy British wedding. You're picking out your fascinator; you're texting your friends all kinds of crown and tiara emojis ("omg what if HARRY is there?!?!?!?"); you're "pre-gaming" with cottage pie, because you read once that that was Prince William's favorite food. All of this would be totally normal. More eyebrow-raising: showing up to a fancy British wedding wearing a coat previously worn (twice!) by Kate Middleton. Now, we can maybe see how one, in the tumult before attending a high-profile wedding, stressed about what to wear, could find herself clicking through Kate Middleton slideshows, noticing a winning Kate outfit, and thinking to herself, "What are the chances that Kate-if she's at this wedding, too-would wear the same thing she's already worn twice before?" Well, friend, if you knew Kate, you'd know the chances of that happening are very high.

Indeed, an unidentified woman who has no doubt since gone into witness protection (the Daily Mail has a guess as to her name) wore the same blue tweed M Missoni coat as Kate to a wedding (of two close friends of Kate and William's) this weekend. Kate has previously worn the coat-from the label's fall/winter 2010 line-in public twice before. There is only one explanation we can come up with for the behavior of this woman-who accessorized the coat with strappy fuchsia heels and who bears a passing resemblance to Emily Mortimer.

She must have been aiming to set forth an Olsen twins movie-style plot in which she would somehow be mistaken for Kate and-through a series of misunderstandings-end up switching lives with her. ("Hello, William. I am your wife. My face looks a little different because I . . . uh, just had an allergic reaction to some, uh, caviar.") And with this as her (presumed) goal, we can hardly blame her for her faux pas.
