An extremely gorgeous celebrity (who shall remain nameless) recently told me that she pats hemorrhoid cream underneath her eyes to tighten up any puffiness.
I didn't want to argue with her--she's kind of intense, and I knew her publicist would be on my tuchass if the interview became "difficult," but I was dying to ask her how long that tube of hemorrhoid cream has been kicking around.
Why? Because typically, only older hemorrhoid creams have the ingredient that's been said to de-puff bags and tighten slacking skin, says Ranella Hirsch, a Boston-based dermatologist. The combination of yeast and shark oil, was later removed (at the FDA's request).
Though some people swore by the stuff, Hirsch was skeptical from the start.
"There was no clinical data supporting the hemorrhoid creams' skin tightening capabilities," she said.
Well that's a bummer.
Instead of Preparation H, or whatever freaky thing you were thinking of slapping on your face, one of my new favorite under-eye tighteners, Lancome High Resolution Eye Collaser--5X, doesn't have revolting associations with other parts of the body.
