You don't have to gorge yourself on green bagels, green beer and Shamrock Shakes to feel festive this St. Patrick's Day. Here are a few green-themed makeup ideas for the office or a party.
Eyes
Apply a green eyeliner on the inner rim (waterline) to get a subtle hint of color. Great for brown, hazel and green eyes. Pair with bronze shadows to make your lash lines pop.
If you want to take it up a notch, there's a slew of green shadows to choose from, ranging in light honeydew melon hues to pine forest greens. Use a black eyeliner to make the shadow stand out.
Blue-eyed gals can try a hunter green liner like Avon Glimmersticks Diamond Eye Liner in Emerald Glow or opt for a dark brown or black eye pencil instead. In terms of choosing an eyeshadow, you'll want a dark green, or a palette like Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quad in Emerald Isle which includes complimenting shades fatigue-green, ivory, beige and brown. Using all four colors together will neutralize the greens and bring out the brown tones, which happen to be the best hues for accentuating blue eyes.
Green makeup looks pretty when paired with a coral pink lip. Try LORAC Breakthrough Performance Lipstick in It Girl.
Nails
You've heard of green eggs, but green nails? China Glaze in Four Leaf Clover is a creamy blue green that is eye-popping but wearable. OPI for Sephora in Leaf Him at the Altar is a metallic hunter green that looks great on any skin tone. For an ultra-flattering manicure, clip your nails short and keep them filed square at the top. Apply two coats of polish and use both a top and base coat to protect nails and to make your nail color last longer.
