    Michelle Obama has a new hairdo! (No, really, this time)

    AP ImagesAP ImagesRemember back in July, when the world of style went wild over Michelle Obama's new short haircut? But then, as it turned out, it wasn't a haircut at all, just a super elegant updo, and the whole world calmed down again?

    Well, fashion and beauty scribes, start your engines! Michele Obama has a new haircut and, this time, it's for real!

    The first lady revealed a sleek, full-bodied, blunt-cut bob on Tuesday when she accompanied the president to a funeral for Jean Biden, Vice President Joe Biden's mother. According to sources who keep track of such things, this was the first time Mrs. Obama was seen publicly with her hair down in more than two months (she's chosen to pull it up and back since November 2nd).

The sleek, (usually) straight style was first popularized in the '20s and was most famously pulled off by actress Louise Brooks. A longer, easier-to-manage version, which appeared in the '60s, was the work of famous stylist Vidal Sassoon. Though some may argue it never went away, in the past few years, the bob has been inching even further into our collective style consciousness and seen on celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, and Eva Longoria.

    The look is known to work on a variety of face shapes and for many different hair textures.

      Am I the only person who saw the picture of the Obama family taken today, 7/16/2010?
      There was some story about the number of times President Obama has had family vacation time postponed.
      The picture showed the President, both daughters and Mrs. Obama leaving for vacation. I'm sure it was a recent picture bacause it showed Malia to be a very lovely and tall young girl.
      Mrs. Obama had a hair cut very nearly identical to President Obamas'.
      She looked great. The cut is like that worn by Mrs. Bill Cosby or Jada Pickett Smith's mother...extremely short and close to the head.

      LittleDustyBunny: Its on the FRONT PAGE of the site. Its not just the beauty section. If it were there, no one would complain. Front page news deserves to be IMPORTANT, like the situation in Haiti.... not hairstyles of the first lady.

      DON DON DON...save the drama or ya momma! his mother was white and so was my great great or maybe (not so great) grandfather that raped our ancestors and gave me this color skin that is probably closer to yours than I wish it was. Now, you are so small that you have to resort to name calling and trying o degrade others to make yourself look better. So sad....., what about that bush sr & jr u remember the alcoholic drug addicts that we allowed to run this country into the ground while murdering your children and ours..., My how soon we forget!
