Mini Make-Overs: Successes and Failures

I'm always looking to update myself; my hair, my make-up, my clothes Running themes in my blog are AFFORDABILITY and EASE of use. I'm a young college student. So budget is tight for me, and since most of America is in the same economical boat as I am, let's do this:

I went thru a major phase where I dyed my hair at home. Often. I changed my hair color probably every 2 months. And not just a subtle changed. I went from Beachy Blonde to Wilma-Flintstone Red, to Lucy Lu Black. Needless to say, my hair ended up looking dry, damaged and dull. I needed to get all this crap dye out of my hair, fast. The BEST solution I found:

One 'N' Only Color Fix: $13.99 Sally's Beauty Supply This stuff smells terrible. I mean, absolutely terrible. But I was willing to do what it took (at a reasonable price) to get my hair back to my OWN brown. And believe it or not, after everything I put in my hair over 6 months - CAME OUT! Poof! Like magic, ladies. This product is worth it's weight in gold. So go ahead and do that home dye job, you can fix it if things go awry.

Things I've been currently trying are new ways to put my hair up at work. This is so far, the best, easiest and cutest look to pull off in under 5 minutes of getting ready for work:

The Lower Side Bun: All it takes is ONE hair tie! Gather your hair at the bottom of your hairline, wrap around in a pony tail a couple times and before you tie the last round, split your hair right in the middle of the tail, wrap towards the head, and then loop your tie around round more time. Super easy. Quick. Awesome.

And, I'm telling you, a bit of new lipstick goes a LONG way:
American Beauty, Spice So Nice 07: $12.50, Kohls The most I've EVER spent on lipstick. But, totally worth it. The color stays on all day, literally no extra applications. I drink water at my desk all day and I still don't have to re-apply. Man, I love Kohls.

Happy Mini Make-Overs!
