Models ... Without Makeup. They Really Are Like You and Me

See! They DO look like us ... well, give or take a couple pounds (wow, even that's a little generous). Why is it so refreshing to see these Louis Vuitton models without makeup (see Hollywood starlets makeup-less while you're at it)? Oh I know, because we are used to seeing them looking freakishly perfect in magazine ads all the time (but you can look great in every photo too -- no really). I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Photoshop for all the deception. Thanks Photoshop, you really know how to make us normal girls feel loved. OK, end bitter rant.

Personally, to know that these gorgeous girls strutting down the runway look more like plain Janes on their days off the job, allows me to believe that life may just be fair after all. So go ahead, enjoy looking at the rest of these models sans makeup and feel free go au natural yourself some days with these no-makeup makeup looks.

      Sekino....
You made a great point. Women buy into this nonsense that if you are not perfect
w/skin, hair, weight, etc. a certain way than they are not worth dating. Hey get a
bunch of friends together and do something fun. To all the men that think they are "all that", date a couple of these models....I imagine you will have a dull,
expensive time. Find a bunch of friends and do stuff together from going out to
dinner to having fun at the beach. Quit with the damn looks, you are cheating
yourself out of meeting some pretty fabulous people.

I'm so happy to see that so many of the commenters like how the models look without make-up. I am so sick of people hating on models because they do their job well, which is to be beautiful. Also I don't get what is the big deal about not wearing makeup. I'm sure a lot of people who are not models look great without make-up as well. People who are intimidated by another's persons beauty are probably just ugly. I'm happy to see so many people on Shine (at least the majority of the people who have commented on this post) have good self esteem and don't have to bring other people down to feel good about themselves!!!

I have been seeing women now for years w/out make up and they are always beautiful. If men can go around all day long au-natural why shouldn't women. Just don't forget the lips and ears.

The women on here are really stupid.

      Adriana Lima:

They do look like us?? Speak for yourself. Don't try to drag me down with your pitiful selves. I look like myself and I don't wear makeup and I'm told that I'm beautiful, gorgeous, pretty, cute everyday by complete strangers. If you think that these people are beautiful or more beautiful than you, that's your opinion. Adriana is not going to look beautiful to everyone. She doesn't to me. I don't care about being a model, and I don't care for makeup. If you want to wear it, go ahead, but don't bash women for not, or drag them down with your pitiful, loser-selves. This is natural, that is not. That is like saying that women should get plastic surgery to look nice, while natural is not. Now go get lives, all of you.

Photo editing has been around since the 90's so whoever said Cindy Crawford etc. that those supermodels weren't retouched at the height of their career is a load of crap. They were edited as well. Any photo that has been going into a magazine for the past few decades has been retouched and airbrushed. This is not a new invention! IDIOT.

A burnette with light eyes will always appear more gorgeous than a blonde, because of contrast. After a certain age,(I'd say 20)Blonde hair needs make-up to push someone into gorgeous category....

Now that I will be 30 this year, I feel more confident than ever without makeup, yes, I still have a few scars, or dark circles under my eyes but it could really be worse, I honestly feel more beautiful now than ever before.

i think this is a great reminder to let some ladies know, that the world is perfection and your beautiful just the way they are. ;)

I know for a fact some models look like hell warmed over after a night of partying.
They get breakouts, dark circles, and puffy eyes too.
Big noses, freckles and other imperfections are often concealed with makeup AND lighting.
Besides, some actresses look downright terrible without make up, and they get cellulite too.
      Nobody's perfect.

I think the worst thing about photo enhancing is that it takes away the "human" feel of these models. Air brushing takes away the fine lines and textures that make us real....when looking at mag covers and adds of models and celebs it can be quite devastating to see such beauty, no creases in their belly, no fine lines or signs of living on the face, no veins, no imperfections, no bumps or redness. This kind of beauty is nonexistent and will not ever be achievable....

Models are the worst thing to happen to women. "Let's call this attractive and the rest can go to hell".

I'm tired on the one package deal of beauty: Tall, thin, and Caucasian.

The thing about Make-Up is that a lot of women tend to wear way too much of it on their face, to why a lot of them do not look good as ONE WHOLE PACKAGE put together well. Just imagine, where you wear Blue eye shadow (or whatever else color) to heavy black liner, etc...and you get compliments on not you as a one whole person, but instead hear the following compliment of; "Hey really like your blue eye shadow or your black liner...." Also, some women who do naturally wear a lot of make-up cannot see that it actually makes them look OLDER than they are!. Some things for females to think about.

Tracy is also completely ignorant. Maybe Adriana Lima can afford all the crap she just listed, but I literally know girls who live on the 50euros (I model in europe) per week that the agency gives them. This is to cover food, transportation, and any miscellaneous expenses for a full 7 days. So I don't really see where you come off saying that all models can afford all that bull crap. Until you know what the heck you're talking about, don't sound off.

Plus, models aren't supposed to be "pretty" neccessarily but striking. They are supposed to look good with wearing a lot of different looks. They're supposed to be canvases. I think most people that call models ugly just have skewed perception of beauty and prefer more average looks.
