If there's one thing Justin Bieber's good at, it's keeping us on our toes. (Also: making music, making movies, making girls cry.) Tonight, amidst all kinds of crazy news and to the surprise of pretty much everyone-OK, OK, with the exception of his Twitter followers-he released a new music video. Hey, an artist's gotta do what an artist's gotta do!
About that video? Journals is a gem of an album with too many repeat-worthy songs to name, but "Confident" is one of the stand-out tracks-and this video will only make you love it more.
It's a lot like the "All That Matters" music video, with the mysteriously dark backdrop, rad dance movies, and totally gorgeous leading lady. But this one's infinitely cooler thanks to a brilliant cameo by Chance the Rapper. The 20-year-old Chicago native was one of the most buzzed-about rappers of 2013, and if this stellar collaboration is any indication, this year's going to be even bigger. (The dude already has a stellar track record-he's rapped on tracks by Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, and James Blake.)
The Biebs, in full-on croonin' and wooin' mode, is equally great. Midway through the six-minute video, there's a scene where the music stops and the singer pipes up with a hilariously cheesy tongue-in-cheek pick-up line. You'll find yourself giggling out loud, and then you'll be all, "Wait, am I really giggling audibly during a Justin Bieber video?!" Like we said, Justin's always keeping us on our toes.
