    Naomi Watts to Play Princess Diana

The actress is set to play Princess Diana in Caught in Flight, a drama about the last two years of the Princess of Wales's life, Deadline reports. "It is such an honor to be able to play this iconic role," Watts said in a statement. "Princess Diana was loved across the world and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen." Caught in Flight begins filming later this year. And Princess Diana isn't the only icon Watts is bringing to the big-screen-she's also playing Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, an adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates's novel about the late actress.

      Naomi Watts is a good actress but she's 5" too short and about 6 or 7 years too old. I'd have rather seen them cast an unknown or better yet, not do a movie about Princess Diana than cast someone who looks so little like Diana.

      Yes, they have quite a resemblance; but pray tell what on earth are they going to try and milk out of this story? There is nothing we don't know about Diana (wish there were some things that were NOT made privy to the public) nor probably care to know. Diana's time has passed and we love and remember her; but it HAS passed on. She had a relatively short life and. it has been played and replayed. Please let the poor woman rest in peace.
