Pretty much every nail color trend can be traced back to Chanel. The most popular manicures of recent years: dark red (Vamp), navy (Blue Satin) dark purple (Vendetta), griege (Particuliere), mint green (Jade), army green (Khaki Vert), pearlescent shades (Black Pearl), and yellow (Mimosa). So we're giving you a head's up that the next nail color du jour will be shades of blue.

The new Les Jeans De Chanel nail collection will debut on September 8 at Fashion's Night Out events across the country and on chanel.com for a limited time until the end of the month. This trio of laquers is inspired by our favorite wardrobe staple: denim! Coco Blue is a sky blue shade, while Blue Boy has an inky hue. Blue Rebel reminds us of our favorite dark jeans, and is somehow much cooler than your average navy nail color. We're obsessed with all three. The downfall here is the same with all things Chanel. The polishes will be pricey ($25 a pop) and will probably sell out immediately. Which perhaps is precisely what makes us want them even more.

If you're digging the denim nail trend we've found some blue-hued alternatives in a range of prices you can buy right now:
