Full disclosure: I'm an awards show freak. As in, TiVo-ing the red carpet pre-show, pausing it to check out people's looks, watching the awards from beginning to end, checking out the post-show highlights, and looking at recap galleries online the next day.
Why am I so obsessed? Hard to say really. I think I just love the glamour of it all -- the gorgeous gowns, the elaborate hair and makeup, the inevitable train wrecks (like these, yikes). And maybe I'm just a little jealous that I'm not getting all dressed up for a fabulous party -- although I can copy the looks at home with these tips.
Whatever the reason, I've taken the obsession to a new level this year: predicting which hairstyles the stars will wear at the Globes and photoshopping the looks on to them. I know, I know, I need help, but it was so much fun! Check out my guesses below (and by guesses, I mean what I'd love to see them in), and tell me: are you an awards show nut too? Will you be watching the Golden Globes this year?
Nominated for: Best Actress in a Motion Picture -- Comedy or Musical for "Love and Other Drugs"
The look: Anne Hathaway has tried quite a few looks over the years. Lately she's been rocking soft and voluminous blow-outs, which I love. But for the Golden Globes I think she should try something totally different and go for a faux-bob updo. It's fun and playful and won't get in the way of a fabulous dress.

Angelina Jolie
Nominated for: Best Actress in a Motion Picture -- Comedy or Musical for "The Tourist"
The look: Lately Angelina Jolie has been wearing her hair down a lot -- clearly it's her go-to style. I don't want her to stray too far out of her comfort zone, so I think this wavy half updo would be perfect. It's got just enough volume to be sexy without venturing into pageant territory.

Mila Kunis
Nominated for: Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for "Black Swan"
The look: I figure Mila Kunis has had enough with the ballerina hairstyles after "Black Swan," so I think she'd look great with these soft and tousled curls. They'll look beautiful with any style of dress and they aren't too stuffy for the fun atmosphere of the Golden Globes.

Emma Stone
Nominated for: Best Actress in a Motion Picture -- Comedy or Musical for "Easy A"
The look: I kind of miss Emma Stone's red hair, but since she seems to be sticking with the blonde for now, I'll at least inject some fun with this tousled and loose hairstyle. It's great for an actress nominated for a fun comedy -- she definitely looks ready to party (and, ahem, accept a statuette if necessary).

Sofia Vergara
Nominated for: Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series for "Modern Family"
The look: Sofia Vergara rarely wears her hair up (the last time she did: the 2010 Golden Globes!) and I think it's a shame. Sure, she's got a-ma-zing long wavy hair, but she's also got a gorgeous face and figure. So I say they should get the spotlight for a night. Plus this look means she can party it up without her hair tangling or getting in the way.
