Perfumer creates fragrance out of his own poop

Surplus really stinks.We've always felt some of those Demeter scents like Dirt, Play-Doh, and Gin & Tonic were kind of gross, but this new fragrance simply cannot be topped on the disgust-o-meter.

Artist and self-proclaimed perfumer Jammie Nicholas has created his own, um, eau de TOILET. Surplus is "made from the excess of the body" aka it has been concocted from his own feces. In an interview with Vice, the artist says, "I found out that there are molecules that are common to both good and bad smells. For example, the smell of feces and many white flowers-like orange blossoms and juniper-are from the molecule Skatol. They're just there in varying concentrations." But orange blossoms don't interest Nicholas, who claims he has sold 25 bottles of Surplus so far with a price of $80 each. How'd he land on the price? "That's the average price for a perfume of that size." Yeah, but those fragrances smell good and are actually wearable!

Seriously, if Lady Gaga's perfume will be made with blood and semen, and this dude is making a cologne from distilled poop, the fragrance world has reached an all-time low.
