Rachel Roy Forays Into Designing Makeup

The Goods: Designer Rachel Roy knows how to make ladies look gorgeous with her high-end label Rachel Roy, less-pricey, diffusion line Rachel Rachel Roy, and now, a new makeup collection. The debut palette, featuring ten eye shadows and two brushes, hit Macy's at the beginning of the month and costs $32.

Why It Works: As a stylist, Roy understands that women like direction (heck, we like anything that allows us to be a little bit lazy). She makes choosing colors super easy by labeling five fiery-copper shades as day looks, and five icy-jewel tones as evening picks. Use the lightest hues (Balance and Twilight) as your bases and layer the rest of the sheer, shimmery shades as you please.

Insider Tip: Still not sure how to apply the shades in the boho (the packaging is comprised of 25 percent recycled material) compact? Just snap the QR code on the back of it with your phone, and you'll pull up tips from Roy on how to create her own signature styles.
