Retro futurism: Do we really want to dress like the Jetsons?

I dislike the "futuristic" shoulder pad trend. Wouldn't be caught dead in it...

The Blond in the Black/sliver dress , that's ok....but the top of the solders and the brown haired girl in the Black and Purple dress that one is ok too..The rest NO I don't like........Funny....LOL Casy

I was absolutely overjoyed to see thesse strong architechtural shapes hit the runways for FALL 09 as a movement to interpret and experiment with. A welcome return to my favorite fashion movent of the mid nineteen sixties, the trend was beautifully trancended in a modern direction thru its incorporation of easier care fabrics and use lightweight structural ingenuity that modern technology has afforded this exciting rebirth. The original 'Jet Girl' hey day of the sixties by designers like Courreges and Balenciaga was largely presented in strikingly clean abstract editorial looks that signified a new luxurious new frontier for an evolving fashion culture. My question for the coming season is how celebrity will embrace and represent such a strong trend when there are so many ways the paparazzi can easily make a living submitting unflattering photos of some of these clothes to the tabloids and making the whole thing look ridiculous. Cue the new 'it' girl of the editorial fashion world...and prepare for takeoff!

looks interesting, much more inventive than other clothes. Could use some improvements though because I'm not a big fan of metallic fabric yuck.

I guess the future means we all will be football players wearing heals and short dresses. Gag! I liked some of the dresses, but the rest is just someones bad fantasy. Sorry.

I always wondered where they got those looks from...and you said it the jetsons...i dont like those dresses..they are so not cute but i guess its high fasion...u know....i wouldnt dare wear something of that sort i could careless how much money i had!!!

Just a fad of course! She looks like a silver bumble bee. A fat one. Look ladies we don't care what you wear. All we care about is what you have under the clothes. Pretty much. Dress is horrible.
