As a woman with dry, thick, coarse and wavy hair, the summer heat and humidity can play havoc on it. Furthermore, styling my hair is a challenge, it likes to argue with me most the time and wave where it wants to wave. Therefore I use a variety of products to combat frizz and to aid in the styling process. To have to pick one "can't live without hair care product" would be impossible. So here is my array of products that are a must to combat frizz and hydrate my hair.
First and foremost I invest in a good conditioner. I have tried less expensive brands and it seems to me that I have to use twice as much to fully condition my hair. I am currently using Matrix Biolage Fortetherapie Strengthening Conditioner. Got it from Amazon.com for less than $20 for a full 33.8 oz! I also use olive oil to deep condition my hair once a month. Just apply to hair and wrap a plastic bag around your head and let set for about half an hour.
Secondly I always use a leave in conditioner. It calms my hair down so it is not so fluffy. I like Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine and I use this after every wash.
Thirdly, if I am flat ironing my hair I use John Frieda Frizz-Ease Thermal Protector. It seems to protect my hair from the heat and combats flyaway.
Lastly to eliminate hair product buildup I use a vinegar rinse once a month.
