At most decent spas, you can't get a slap on the back for under 50 bucks. Which is why you should be psyched about April's Spa Week.
Spa Week was created so normal people (not just the rich and famous) could pamper themselves with treatments-which usually cost $100 to $200-for a cool $50. (Founder Cheryl Reid believes spa treatments are integral for leading a balanced life amid all of the craziness, and should be more accessible and affordable.)
It originally began in the New York area, where stressing comes as naturally as breathing. But this year, spas in more than 20 cities are participating.
For $50, I'd be tempted to check out the new "green" treatments that spas are offering, which include the Goji Berry Immunity Boost for the Body and Ginseng Correcting Facial (at Yin Beauty Studio in NYC), the Mango Enzyme Exfoliating Facial (at Complexions RX in San Diego), Ginger Wasabi Green Tea Pedicure (at La Belle Day Spa in San Francisco) and a super-stretchy Thai Massage with Hot Herbal Compress (at Thai Sabai in LA).
You can start making reservations on the Spa Week site starting Monday. Slots go fast, so mark your calendars!
