Staying Trendy Without Emptying Your Wallet!!

If your like me and love keeping up with current fashion trends, you know it can be
expensive, and when the trend is over your stuck with a dated piece of clothing,
jewelry, or shoes.
One way to keep up with trends without denting your wallet is to buy these
items at stores like H&M, Forever 21, and Marshall's. It makes way more sense to
splurge on higher priced items for your wardrobe that have timeless wear-ability
(such as the classic black dress every woman should have) versus a wardrobe of outdated items.
The Key to buying trendy items for less, is to take into account what the clothing,
jewelry, or shoes will look after it's been worn. Will it wear badly? Will it loose
it's shape when washed? I know that this can happen when shopping for quantity versus
quality but you can extend the life of any item by shopping around and finding not
only the best price for your wallet, but the exact item you want.

Here is a short list of items that are currently trending Fall/Winter 2011-2012 that
I've found for less:

Statement Jewelry: This trend is huge this year with designers taking their creativity
to new heights. This ring, is selling on Etsy.com for $30, I bought this exact ring for $7.99
at Target.

Pleated Maxi Skirt : We all know that once the pleated Maxi Skirt trend is over, no one will want to have them in their closet. I don't believe there is ever a time you can pull off pleats without looking like and Catholic elementary school student unless it's in season. This Skirt is $24.80 at Forever 21. Sites like Anthropoligie are selling similar Skirts for $78.00-$248.00. There is even a Michael Kors skirt that was selling for $1,195 and is now$717? click here to see it!

Bold Colors/ Prints/Oxford Shoes:
Personally I love wearing bold colors. Years ago I was part of that club of people who only wear black, Navy, gray. I decided to start incorporating more color or sparkle into my wardrobe and haven't looked back since. In fact I can't wear anything now without adding a pop of color to my outfit. If you want to try this trend but are not quite ready to make the full color jump, one way of slowly adding color to your outfit is with shoes. I love the Oxford style because it's a classic and I've seen this shoe in about every color, style, and print imaginable. The shoe below is by Steve Madden "Tapps", and If you go to Nordstrom.com you can see the many styles priced from 59.99 +.
