Spring is here and that means it's time to swap out your heavy winter scents from some fun and flirty new ones. We've been sniffing around the stores lately and have noticed a plethora of new smells we're craving from our favorite celebrities. Check out three scents below you'll want to get your hands on.
Kim Kardashian by Kim Kardashian
The middle Kardashian sister has been making the rounds lately with her many endorsements and now, her debut fragrance. We caught up with Kim Kardashian when the scent launched to talk about the process. "It took two years to create the fragrance and I smelled about 65 versions until we got it right, " she said. "My favorite notes are jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia. I learned so much about what it takes to develop a scent, and the end result is the perfect extension of my own personal style. It's sexy and sultry, but you can still wear it during the day. I also helped design the bottle. There are so many square and rectangular-shaped ones out there, and I wanted something curvy and feminine."
Kim Kardashian is available exclusively at Sephora for $35 to $65.
SJP NYC by Sarah Jessica Parker
Sex and the City 2 may not come out until May 2, but this scent will hold you over on your Carrie Bradshaw fix until then. When chatting with Sarah Jessica Parker about her new scent (she's already got a few under her belt!) she said, "When you have a general thought, the hard part is focusing it. I wanted to capture a freeze-frame in Carrie's life: a snapshot of her walking down the street in the spring, in a floral dress. The result of that image is a fun, sweet scent with notes of Italian mandarin, wild red strawberries, gardenia, and honeysuckle."
SJP also said the aroma is reminiscent of school being out for summer. "It's like when they ring the recess bell, that excitement of the beginning of summer," she said. Sounds perfect for the start of warm weather!
SJP NYC is available at fine department stores nationwide for $25 to $49.
VIP by Usher
We trust Usher because he seems to know the ladies. So when he told us it is sexy for a woman to wear a man's cologne, we believe him! "Typically, I prefer a woman in a woman's fragrance, but a very confident female could pull off a cologne like VIP. Some women like to have their men's scent on their skin, so I'm not mad at you if you want to wear VIP!"
Even if you don't want to wear it, you'll definitely want your guy to. "It's a man's scent created for women," Usher said. "It opens with fresh, clean notes of bergamot, tangerine, and kumquat, then as it sits on a man's skin and mixes with his body chemistry, the more sensual woody notes come out."
VIP is available at fine department stores nationwide for $25 to $60.
