I've always assumed Madonna got her killer bod from working out on NASA-grade exercise equipment under a scary dictator/trainer who looks like he's in the Secret Service.
Truth is, she works out under Tracy Anderson, a cute blonde who actually isn't a fan of those scary iron contraptions. "I've tested all those machines-they made me bulky and were hard on my joints," she says.
Instead, Tracy-who once battled the bulge just like a real human-favors low-tech workout exercises like running on the treadmill. She suggests loading up the iPod with 30 minutes of your favorite songs, then sprinting for one song, skipping for the second, and galloping for the third. Eventually, you should build up to a 30-minute routine. (If you don't work out, I'd imagine the three songs feel especially long.)
Another easy-OK basic-exercise she loves? Grand pilates. Get in first position-heels together, toes facing outward-and bend at the knee as low as you can go, keeping your back straight the whole while through. Then go back up again. As you get fitter, you should be able to do this 100 times.
Don't worry. You'll get there.Related Links from Allure:
