User Post: Body Full Letdown

I was thrilled beyond belief when I received this month's assignment. My hair is long and straightish. Not too thick, not too thin. I'd say I have very average hair. I'm always looking for a great miracle to add body and volume, so this new Redken Body Full line at first glance, had great promise. The first day, I tried the shampoo and conditioner without using the styling products. I wanted to see what the shampoo and conditioner could accomplish. First impression.... not so great. The smell is a little off- putting and reminds me of my grandmother's perfume. I did like how silky my hair felt once I rinsed out the conditioner. After showering, I blow dried as usual. I was so disappointed. My hair was pretty lifeless and flat. It was super silky and soft and shiny, but flat, flat, flat. I gave the shampoo and conditioner combo another couple of washes before I tried the whole line together. Same results every time. Flat, soft hair. No body or volume in sight. After a couple of days, I gave the whole line a try. I used 4 pumps of the Instant bodifier and distributed it throughout my hair. I then sprayed the volume amplifier heavily in my roots and worked it through the ends. After blow drying, I have to say, my hair had the body and volume I was looking for. It was glorious! What I didn't like was that my hair felt 'marshmellowy.' I definitely felt like I had tons of product in my hair. An hour later, my hair still felt cakey and stiff, but was once again lifeless. All the body and volume was gone and I was left with more disappointment. If I had purchased this in the salon, I would have already returned it by now. The styling products were definitely better than the shampoo and conditioner, but I just feel that for the price, it wouldn't be worth it. I hope its just me. I hope some of the other gurus had better luck. I know every product doesn't work for everyone, but, wow, was I let down by this one.
