Out of the three Olay products Shine sent out for review, I decided to report on Olay Regenerist DNA Superstructure UV Cream SPF 25. I chose this product because it claims to restore a youthful appearance; something all skincare divas, like me, expect from their products.


I should start out by informing the readers I have never been a big Olay fan. I always found it to be too greasy for my skin and minimal in the area of results; needless to say I started out a bit biased. However as the month went on and I continued to test the product my dismay turned to surprise.

To start with I initially ran into the same problem I had before with Olay products; it caused me to break-out. But, the Gods smiled on Olay and as fate stepped in and intervened, I was shown that not only does weather has a lot to do with my choice of skin care but Olay Regenerist DNA Superstructure could be a very good product after all. Let me explain what I mean.

I am an east coast girl with family on the west coast. I love the west coast though I hardly ever get out that way. What I love about it, aside from fun family visits, is the weather; hot and dry and oh soooo nice (I hope to live there one day). A far cry from the east coast with its humid temps making a nice summer day feel like a pot of boiling water and a nice winter day into, uh, well…wet and cold. But guess what, I had to make a last minute trip out to beautiful California and what I discovered, to my surprise, is that I actually began to like Olay Regenerist DNA Superstructure! I was happy to have it with me on my trip!


As I continued to use the product during my visit it actually moisturized my skin without making it feel or look greasy and my breakouts, though they didn't completely go away, did subside.

I wondered what happened. Why the turn around? I thought about it and decided that climate has a lot to do with the results a product produces.

The drier air of the west coast sucked the moisture out of my sensitive - combination skin, leaving my face feeling parched and tight. My skin needed extra moisture; Olay Regenerist DNA Superstructure to the rescue! The rich and creamy texture of Olay Regenerist DNA Superstructure fit the bill nicely. The product quenched my skin and did not seem greasy. My breakouts even calmed down.

Although I applied Olay Regenerist DNA Superstructure to my face religiously for all of September, I have a hard time seeing past breakouts and unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to stay for an adequate amount of time in California to really see the results this product claims to have. However I was there long enough to see a change in the way the product felt and looked on my skin and I feel comfortable saying if I lived in a climate that is drier than where I live now, I would purchase Olay Regenerist DNA Superstructure UV Cream SPF 25 and give it another try.
