User post: Time to Fess Up! What Fashion Crime Are You Guilty Of?

We ladies always strive to look our best all the time. We love to see what's new, trendy, and fashionable to make sure we stay up with the times. However, no one is perfect and we all have our days when we aren't looking our best or even worse, committing a fashion no-no! Not even celebrities are immune to this! So ladies it's time for some real talk:

What fashion faux pas are you guilty of?

I'll go ahead and spill first:

I've been seriously hitting the gym and watching what I eat for the past month. I'm proud to say that I've been getting good results. So what's my crime? - My clothes don't fit right! Baggy pants and oversized shirts are not cute! LOL. I try my best to minimize the damage with belts, layering clothes, and digging out those clothes that I haven't worn since my lighter days. My wardrobe needs a lot of restructuring so until then, a sista has to work with what she has!

So fess up ladies! What's your fashion crime?

Worn out shoes.... The taps fall off or they are unrecognizable at times... I can't beleive I just admitted that! LOL

I don't think this counts as a fashion crime at the moment, because I've seen it in enough magazines on on the runways lately, but it's definitely been a faux pas in the past: I wear open toed shoes with tights at least two or three days a week. Chunky, tough-looking ones only, with opaque tights, never (God forbid) nylons, but still...I work in a pretty conservative office so I have a feeling all the older, non-fashion-forward folks think it's either some newfangled trend or else they're totally confounded.

I am definitely a "panty line offender"! I can not stand wearing thongs, and it's hard to find comfy undies that don't show, or try to become thongs (aka - start creeping that way). I also wear granny shoes. I know they are not "cool" for someone in their 20s, but dangit - they are so comfy!

      LOL!!
Within this last year and a half I became injured, then recently hospitalized. So I have lost weight and my clothes are also baggy. I started wearing sweats, because I have been in physical therapy, but am in between sizes now, where the clothes I have are too big, but I'm not small enough to fit into a smaller size! LOL
What is a woman to do? hee hee!

saada m, I don't know if it's just something I've never heard of, or what, but no disrespect to your mom or anything, but showering during your period is not unhealthy.

Baggy clothes I went shopping for a new wardrobe in september after loosing 48 pounds...I've since lost 10 more so now my smaller clothes are too big! I'm faking it with layers and belts but I can tell so I know others can too lol!

Going braless. I was helping my sister do some rehab work. It was 100 degrees outside and 100+ degrees inside. I didn't realize how many trips we'd have to make to Home Depot. Sorry, lumber department guy!

Juicy velour pants, tee-shirt layered, and my uggs!

So sad my crime is sooo comfy! Too comfy! Also, I'd be sporting the leggings - but I've put on a few lbs. so, it's cover up for me. Time to start - a healthier lifestyle and get moving.

Uggs. Really, there is NOTHING attractive about them, but they are SO COMFY!

SWEATS! I have been wearing sweats with my muscle shirt and sweat jacket on everytime it gets cold. Here in Texas...you never know what kind of weather your gonna get.

wearing what I want even (and most likely) when it isn't in style--I am covered and that is all I care about. To me, personal opinion, following fashion is dumb--most buy the wrong size or color or style itself. Why would a heavy girl, legs rubbing together and belly fat, want to wear a "belly" shirt and skin tight pants? They look like what we called "streetwalkers" when I was young and you know that they just don't care that they look that way as long as a male will look at them or take them-- ---.Before anyone gets the wrong idea--I am not talking about rape--that is violent, senseless and no one, female or male, ever deserves that.

I am having the same baggy clothes issues, because I too have been working out and losing weight. It's not my tops as much as it is my jeans! Especially once I've been sitting in them for a couple hours, they really sag in the butt.

I guess my other fashion crime is that I have been wearing my Ugg boots constantly in the last month. I live in Colorado, it's kinda chilly, and they are SO warm and comfy!

i absolutely overdo the leggings and uggs look -- i'm a grad student who is in class from 8am until 7pm some nights, so comfort is key! and in the cold months you just can't beat uggs!!

Uggs. I will never apologize, though!!! I've had Uggs for years and years and I won't stop wearing them because they are "so 2003". I only wear them on cold days, though... NEVER with skirts or shorts. Blah!

      Fun post, MJ!

My current crime is the overuse of leggings. I wear them probably 4-5 days a week lately. They are just so comfy and good for layering! Plus when I get to blog from home, leggings are the next best thing to wearing PJs. :)

I'll be the first 2 admit that I'm guilty of the muffin top (gasp). I switched from factory work to sitting in a casual dress code office. I've gained 30 lbs & I still have a closet full of short shirts. I do try 2 cover up though.
