    There are two reasons to watch the MTV Video Music Awards: staged French kisses and meat dresses. Unfortunately, Thursday night's music prom had neither. Instead the biggest theatrics were some one-sies and a pair of matching platinum mohawks. Despite the low shock value, there were a few red carpet highlights that got the party started.
