Wary of Botox? Get All the Dirt on Injectables.

If all the injectable parties on the Real Housewives have left you a little weary, join the club. But if you are considering some kind of needle work, check out this new site that gives you real, scientific information-with not a cocktail in sight. The same part of us that watches surgery shows on the Discovery Health channel appreciated the live injection videos, and our wordsmith side appreciated the exhaustive glossary (with not one, but five Botox-related definitions.)

Apparently one woman never found this site... and performed a DIY injection at home. Would you ever attempt self-surgery?

Also, the site gets the seal of approval from both the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and our contributing editor, plastic surgery expert Joan Kron. "Too many women want to try injectables, but don't know which one would be right for their particular concerns," she says. "The site can give you a detailed outline of everything that's out there so that you can make an educated choice." Her caveat: "Anyone just starting out should use shorter acting injectables to make sure they like the effect-and know that some long-lasting and permanent fillers are controversial."
