Would You Wear an Angry Birds Gown?

Well? Would you?

I'll freely admit that I don't quite understand the Angry Birds phenomenon. Back when it was first poking its feathery little head out, I heard about it, got kind of intrigued, bought it, played it… and found myself scratching my head. Maybe I'm alone in my immunity to its strange and mysterious charms. That aside, though, the only thing I find more bizarre than the addictive game itself is the desire to plaster Angry Birds EVERYWHERE. Seriously. There is no escaping it.

This is why the dress pictured above confuses me.

To be fair, the lady sporting it has good reason to: She's Teija Vesterbacka, the wife of Peter Vesterbacka, who happens to be the CMO of Rovio, the Finnish company that brought Angry Birds to life. The dress, as you may have noticed, is an artistic, wearable rendering of the game's trademark Red Bird:

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Vesterbackas attended the Castle Ball at the Finnish Presidential Palace on Tuesday night. The Ball is held each year in honor of Finland's Independence Day; a whopping 2,000 guests were in attendance, and the event was broadcast on national television. I guess it sort of makes sense that the Angry Birds people would proudly display their creation-Independence day festivities the world over usually involve a celebration of all things related to that particular nation, and given that Angry Birds is currently one of their biggest defining exports, of course the Vesterbackas would revel in it. Still, though: Would you wear an Angry Birds gown? Really?

Apparently Peter felt that having the both of them in Angry Birds attire would have been overkill, as he left his favorite Angry Birds sweatshirt at home. Either that, or he just couldn't figure out how to make a tux into a cartoon bird.

Tell us: Would you wear this dress?
