If there's one back-to-school essential everyone seems to agree on, it's a great-fitting pair of jeans. In honor of the tried-and-true wardrobe staple, Vanessa Hudgens and a slew of other stylish celebs-outfitted in faded blues, naturally-helped American Eagle Outfitters kick off its brand-new "Rock Your Walk" campaign last night in New York City. Sporting a chic red statement lip, too-cute jeans, and must-have crop top, the Disney alum nailed yet another casual-cool ensemble.

What are your wardrobe must-haves?
An army jacket, for sure! I always make sure I have that with me. Great crop tops in basic colors are essential. And I love a pair of flared, wide-leg pants-they look amazing with heels.
Fashion-wise, how are you gearing up for fall?
I actually love when it gets colder because it's so much fun to layer! I'm really into felt hats and will definitely be wearing those more often. And I also love over-the-knee socks-they're so cute with skirts and a little jacket.
Are there any beauty trends you're excited for?
It's not so much a trend, but I love red lips. I'm obsessed with Stila's lip stain-it's what I'm wearing now, and it's incredible! I have it in every single shade because the color doesn't come off and the pigments are so rich.
What's your secret to the perfect first-day-of-school ensemble?
Don't procrastinate! Pick it out the night before. And wear something you're comfortable in, of course. Don't think that going crazy with trends and doing something that's really going to make you stand out will make you feel good. If you don't feel comfortable, you're not going to feel good about yourself. Stick with what you love and you'll be fine!
Summer's almost over! Anything big planned for fall?
I've had some downtime, so I'm going to start working really hard again and pushing myself to the limit. It's all about balance-I love working because that's when I'm growing the most, but having some time off is so important. Just like being a student! You've got to push yourself, but you need time to relax, too.
