Fashionable flats for moms and women on the go

I am a girl who loves her heels, but I am also a work-at-home mom. This means I am often running after kids in the midst of working on projects and trying to keep the house clean. Since I need to be quick on my feet, flats are my best option. Thankfully the following flats are stylish as well as comfortable. They are also a hot trend right now making them the perfect addition to busy women's wardrobes.

    Go Bold

As I am sure you have noticed, bright colors are very popular. When you have a bold, happy color in your closet; you can turn the blandest outfit into a stylish statement. Try these orange ballet flats by Michael Kors on for size. Orange is a trendy color and can easily be paired with khaki, white, or blue. You can even delve into color blocking without giving it much thought by wearing a pair of bright shoes with an outfit in contrasting colors.

    Floral fun

Floral prints are another hot trend that you do not have to ignore, even if you are spending the summer in plain t-shirts and shorts. Add these pretty Hailey Jeans Floral Print Flats and your simple outfit suddenly seems to be part of the grand plan. Stick a silk flower clip in your hair to complete the look in the blink of an eye.

    Comfy Chucks

There is something about a pair of classic Converse Chucks that just scream relaxation. The Bleach Polka Dot Converse Beach Slides are cute worn with a jersey knit skirt and tank top or capris and a tee. You may not be able to chill on the beach for hours on end, but at least these canvas flip flop will take you to the playground with the kids in style.

    The Joy of Jellies

Like Converse tennies, jelly shoes are a fun blast from the past. What is not to love about this clear plastic girly shoe? Slide into the pink goodness of these Lilly Pulitzer Women's Pink Dress Sandal and you will feel like a little girl again. Don't forget to wear a skirt you can spin in!

    Elegance in an instant

Some events call for a dressier style than canvas flats or jelly shoes can provide. In that case, check out a pair of two-tone pointy toe flats. The gradient finish starts out dark around the heel gradually lightening up at the toe. This elegant look creates a modern spectator style in a shoe that can be slipped on and maneuvered in even with toddlers in tow.
