    Sometimes, the best way to save money is to take care of the the big-ticket items we have already purchased. Extending the life of some basic household items can lead to significant savings. Yahoo! Finance's Farnoosh Torabi tracks down some good tips for making stuff last in our homes, from the mattresses we sleep on every night to the printer ink cartridges that seem to run out too quickly and cost a substantial buck to replace.
