Sugarcane stalks make the perfect skewer for quick-and-easy grilling of your favorite fruits, such as bananas, cherries, pineapple, plums and mango. Or, for a cool treat, don't grill the fruit, just serve it fresh on the sugarcane skewers for a fun variation of a traditional kabob.
Ingredients
- Sugarcane stalks
- Pineapple chunks
- Plum slices
- Banana chunks, cherries, and/or mango chunks (optional)
Directions
- 1Use a paring knife to taper ends of sugarcane stalks to a point. Skewer pineapple chunks and plum slices. Grill on a greased grill rack directly over medium-hot coals for 1 minute on each side. Or skip the grilling and serve fresh fruit, such as banana chunks, cherries, and mango chunks, on the sugarcane skewers.
